City imposes $100/year fee on tobacco sales
By Johnathan Bissonnette
CENTRAL FALLS - Mayor James Diossa on Tuesday signed into law a new ordinance targeted at improving the enforcement of tobacco sales in the city while working to better community health.
The ordinance - which was approved unanimously by the City Council earlier this month - introduces comprehensive oversight of tobacco sales in the city, focusing on outlawing specific marketing aimed at young people, city officials said.
