Central Falls – Time for spring cleaning! Mayor James A. Diossa announces the 7th Annual Earth Day Cleanup and is call on residents to participate.

The event will take place on Saturday April 22nd at Jenks Park from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hundreds of volunteers are expected to be in attendance, as it has become customary over the past few years.

“Earth Day is a day to celebrate by cleaning our streets and parks in Central Falls,” stated Mayor Diossa. “The goal is not just to clean up the City once a year, but rather to raise awareness and instill a sense of ownership over our own environment.”

“The Annual Earth Day Cleanup has become a very large event for the City,” stated the Department of Parks & Recreation & Community Services Director Robert Sayre-McCord, “We will be looking to cover the entire square mile and are excited to see the community come together for such a great cause.”

The City will be providing materials, including gloves, shovels and rakes. Lunch will then be provided to all volunteers after the cleanup is complete.
