Home Repair Program

The City of Central Falls through the Home Repair Program provides loans to homeowners make improvements to their residence. This program helps the City met the goals of promoting safe and affordable housing and increase home-ownership rate.

 

A main eligibility for the Home Repair Program is determined by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on an annual basis. Here is HUD’s current income limits, which are based on household size. In order to qualify for this program the homeowner must provide household income information, documenting all sources of income for each household.

 

Homeowners interested in applying for the City of Central Falls Home Repair Program should read the program Policies & Procedures and complete the application. Completed applications must be returned in-person or by mail (1280 High Street, Central Falls, RI 02863).

 

After a homeowner submits an application and required documentation, it takes approximately 2-4 weeks for the City to prepare and submit the application to the Rhode Island Office of Community Housing and Development (OHCD). OHCD reviews all applications to determine whether it will be approved or denied. Award decisions from OHCD take approximately 4-6 weeks.
