In an effort to assist city residents braving the bitter cold, the Providence Journal reports that the City of Central Falls has opened a warming center from Wednesday through Saturday at the Forand Manor (30 Washington St).
The newspaper reports the following:
A warming center will be open in Central Falls [from 12pm] until 9 p.m. Wednesday [through Saturday] city officials said in a news release.
The community room of Forand Manor, 30 Washington St., will also be open from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday to help keep people out of the dangerous cold weather.
Central Falls residents can get a ride to the warming center by calling the non-emergency number for the police, at (401) 727-7411. In an emergency, call 911.
