Central Falls’ Financial Progress Reaffirmed by Moody’s

Central Falls – Credit rating agency Moody’s Investor Services praised the City of Central Falls’ financial progress and increased their credit rating by one notch from Ba2 to Ba1. The increase comes on the heels of Credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s increase of Central Falls’ long-term bond rating by three notches from “BB” to “BBB,” placing the City in Investment Grade. Moody’s analysts also indicated that the City may be upgraded again within 12 to 24 months based on the positive outlook.

Central Falls – On Monday March 27, 2017, Mayor James A. Diossa and police chief Colonel James J. Mendonca announced that the Central Falls Police Department had officially secured the funds to add Hayron to the department’s K-9 Unit. The funds were acquired completely through donations.

Law Students Spend Spring Break in Central Falls

Mayor James Diossa today thanked three Roger Williams University law school students, Mackenzie Collins, Kathrine Morin and Alexander Joyal who just spent a full-time week in the Central Falls' Law Department as part of the law school's "Alternative Spring Break" program.  Students in the program dedicate their spring break to serving the public interest.

Standard & Poor's Significantly Upgrades Central Falls Credit Rating To Investment Grade

Central Falls – Credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s has raised Central Falls’ long-term bond rating three notches from “BB” to “BBB” placing the City in Investment Grade. The significant upgrade comes as S&P reaffirms that “Central Falls is operating under a much stronger economic and management environment since emerging from bankruptcy in 2012. The city has had several years of strong budgetary performance, and has fully adhered to the established post-bankruptcy plan.”
