Central Falls makes history with New England’s first Green and Complete Streets Ordinance

CENTRAL FALLS, RI – On Wednesday, January 17th Mayor James A. Diossa signed into law New England’s first Green and Complete Streets Ordinance. The bill, which was approved unanimously by the city council, will allow for a transportation system that minimizes environmental impact and creates streets that are safe for everyone, regardless of age, ability, or mode of transportations.

Central Falls opens Warming Center for Residents

CENTRAL FALLS, RI – In an effort to assist city residents braving the bitter cold, the City of Central Falls has opened a warming center every day of the week at the Forand Manor (30 Washington St) from 9am to 8pm.

Central Falls residents can get a ride to the warming center by calling the non-emergency number for the police, at (401) 727-7411. In an emergency, call 911.

CENTRAL FALLS, RI – On Friday, September 29th, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., join Mayor James A. Diossa and the City of Central Falls in the final Salsa Night of the year on Roosevelt Ave Bridge. This event, which promises to be even larger than the last three that averaged over 1,500 people, will also be accepting donations for the disaster reliefs in both Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Amazon to the Pawtucket Central Falls Train Station District?

Pawtucket Mayor Grebien and Central Falls Mayor Diossa answer state’s call by offering an ideal location in Rhode Island

PAWTUCKET-CENTRAL FALLS, RI – Pawtucket Mayor Donald R. Grebien and Central Falls Mayor James A. Diossa announced that their communities stand prepared to host Amazon’s second headquarters within the Pawtucket Central Falls Train Station District, which straddles both cities.  The two cities represent the home of the American Industrial Revolution and the cities where industry titans Hasbro, Osram-Sylvania and the William Wheat chocolate factory have called home.

Mayor James A. Diossa and the City of Central Falls welcome all to the 26th Annual Car Show to be held on Dexter Street 

CENTRAL FALLS, RI – Mayor James A. Diossa and the City of Central Falls are hosting the 26th Annual Car Show on Dexter Street on Sunday, September 24th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year, the car show is expected to surpass the over 4,000 people and 120 antique and customized cars that attended last year.
